What We Do
The Lien Violins is inspired by Stradivari and inclined to the Italian string instrument models and styles. We have the capability to produce string instruments based on the models of Amati, Guarneri, Montagnana, Carlo Bergonzi, Guadagnini, Gasparo da salo, Maggini and others upon the requests and needs of our customers.
Each Lien Violins instrument is graded by the type of wood, the manufacturing processes, and the varnishing styles into different classes.
Generally, each instrument is made with a naturally dried maple wood back plate and a pine wood belly. The instrument is then assembled by hand and varnished in our workshop. We challenge ourselves to produce string instruments with deep sonorous bass and crisp clear treble sound.
To meet the needs of professional string players, we make high-end string instruments with selective European maple wood and pine wood that have been naturally dried for over 10 years as back plate and belly, respectively. Each handcrafted instrument is then layered with Italian hand-made varnish. Each Lien Violin instrument represents not only David Lien’s beloved Italian string instrument style but also the meticulous crafting processes, which when combined together produces the luxurious and penetrating sound that would resonate in every major music halls of the world.
