台灣手工製作,承襲義大利製琴傳統

Painting of a luthier working on a cello at the David Lien Taiwan Workshop

Since 2000, David Lien has developed a workshop-based approach to making violins, violas and cellos for musicians seeking expressive response, tonal character and lasting value.

Built with selected European tonewoods, traditional Cremonese-style internal molds and hand-applied oil varnish, each instrument is individually set up and tonally adjusted in Taiwan.

Selected European Tonewoods

European spruce and maple are carefully selected and naturally seasoned according to the instrument’s level and model, providing a stable foundation for tonal development.

Traditional Construction

Each instrument is carved, graduated and assembled using a traditional Cremonese-style internal mold, with close attention to the relationship between the top, back and bass bar.
